Comm MacMillan

Christine MacMillan was in town today and it felt as though we had a great living room conversation! It was deep, personal, comfortable, exciting and highly rewarding. She shared from experiences and presented on Mark 7 and vision statements for our territory. We were encouraged to embody the vision mainly by living a Holy Revolution. Here are some highlights:

"It's not about naming people by an issue but naming people by their name and their story."
"I avoided it [being put on a pedestal] like the plague."
"Here is a swear word in The Salvation Army.... CHANGE."
[loose here]... The call to be a Christian is not always a group hug but a sober realised trust in God and The Salvation Army [our context].
"Our lack of holiness is wanting to get our own way."
[loose here too]... We need to challenge behaviour that is unholy to God. Sometimes we allow people to behave worse in the church than what is tolerated in the world."

The best was her character, experience and love. What a day!... and their was great prayer ministry going on in The War Room.

Her words ring true for so many congregations and members of the Body.

If only we would focus on tearing down the kingdom of hell and all the division that it brings, and spend our energies raising up the Kingdom of Heaven and all the inclusion that it provides. Joy would fill the world, and peace would overtake the universe.

In His dust,
Johnny
