Induction Day

Today Braveheart, Michael Collins gave a rousing class on inductive vs deductive approaches to evangelism. Students concluded that the inductive philosophical approach combined with The Holy Spirit's empowerment guarantees a successful and bold explanation of GOOD NEWS!

A tough act to follow, I inundated students with the inductive Bible Study approach made popular by Kay Arthur's precept on precept ministries. Students are diggin' in the Word this week investigating and applying Philippians to their lives.

A highlight of today was a student finding that living on the corner of Main and Hastings was not incarnational enough for him. He gave away most of his stuff and has a few items of clothing [a pair of jeans and some shirts]. What a zealot, walking in the footsteps of Jesus and Booth-Tucker!

Goodbye Bedbugs and Tobacco, Hello Stolen Possessions

Yesterday a student was delivered from Tobacco. He hasn't smoked since other students [and Jedidiah] layed hands on him. We are believing God will also deliver some of our students from bedbugs. Pray for rooms 704/705 in The Empress. We had a similar episode last year but the plague of bedbugs was no match for Jesus! When Janet Munn prayed over a room, our students weren't bit their for the remainder of the year. Praise the Lord! In addition we prayed for some stolen furniture to be returned. When I came home, there was my furniture, wrapped up with my unit number on it!

Today we met with Majors Bev and Dave Ivany from Toronto [Territorial Head Quarters]. We discussed vocational callings including Officership and in the afternoon how we are fit into the body together. After that we lugged a bunch of carpet up to our 3rd floor space above the crosswalk! The supplies keep on flowing in. We've got a fridge, couches, a whiteboard etc. God keeps blessing us! Pray for some desks for our students to sit in. We don't want to become too civilised but, they may facilitate the learning process.

Faith: Signs, Wonders, Miracles

Today we decreed faith for greater things! Jacynta Pittaway led a rousing praying the Bible session which stirred our faith. Stay tuned to see how we applied our prayers to the streets. Pray that we live by faith, not by emotions, circumstances. Pray also that we would preach and live the Word of God boldly. Our observations are that God shows His power and glory best when He is backing up His Word. May we preach Jesus, crucified and risen! There is power in the blood! Jesus, protect The War College by your name. Save us and use us to do your ministry. Amen.

Open Air

Praise God! The students had their first open air with the same sort of success experienced early on in London England. One lost soul found rest and deliverance in Jesus Christ! May this be the first of many! These kids are talented and relevant. It is as if they have been down here for years. Pray that our work isn't done here but our convert is embraced by community and discipled.

rEVOLution has begun

Great Grace to you!

This blog inaugurates the rEVOLution! session of The War College in Vancouver Canada. Let me tell you what our heroes are up to:

After getting through immigration, students from USA, Australia, UK and Canada moved onto the Hastings corridor in two slum hotels, meeting their neighbours and dealing with the usual slum conditions: bed bugs, dank smoky hallways, noisy nights and countless souls in need of Jesus. They fit in really well, no complaining, enduring the incarnational cross set before them. F. Booth-Tucker would have been proud!

The students then undertook a vigorous boot camp week where students spent a sleepless day and night homeless in the
Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. They spent some more sleepless time in our 24/7 prayer room, 'The War Room' interceding for themselves, the neighbourhood and giving honour to YHWH. All this was on top of a full schedule of getting the basics down: Children's Ministries, Physical fitness, Praying the Bible, Decontamination, Dusting off, Rocky III, Knee Drill, Justice orientation... and more!

We were graced to be with Faytene Kryskow of fly high ministries, eXtreme prophetic, The Cry and The Siege! She imparted to us great faith for the rhema word of God to go forth and free captives. One of our highlights was seeing the testimony of Adam who was saved through eXtreme prophetic and continues to be a part of our community! Kirsten Ivany will be taking the reigns of eXtreme prophetic night [Fridays at 5:30PM @ 110 W Hastings St. 3rd floor].

This week the students barraged into their full time course load with exceptional teachers: Major Winn Blackman, Michael Collins, Aaron White and Jonathan Evans.

The students are just about to hit the streets with their first open air led by Olivia Munn so when the report is in we'll let you know what God is doing. Right now we're really enjoying the refreshment that new students bring as they are accelerated in their spiritual growth! Praise God and send up a prayer for us.
